A Methodology Rooted in Reverence

ATMA Moves is a movement methodology and repertory ensemble founded by Navaji David Nava. Through training, teaching, and choreographic work, it restores depth, integrity, and attentiveness to the relationship between body, movement, and consciousness.

Founded in 2017, ATMA Moves integrates dance, philosophy, spiritual practice, and embodied discipline into a rigorous approach to movement research and artistic development. The work cultivates perceptual clarity, healing, reverence, and a deeper relationship with the living world.

ATMA Moves departs from the culture of competition, comparison, and exclusion that often shapes training spaces. It is a practice grounded in reverence, discipline, and non-cruelty, where rigor and compassion are partners, not opposites.

For some, the practice remains a personal path. For others, it expands into performance through the ATMA Ensemble, where selected artists work under Navaji’s guidance and direction, developing both a personal practice and original choreographic work shaped by the philosophical and energetic foundations of ATMA Moves.
